Dr Tarun Chauhan has been working as a fully qualified doctor for near two decades having completed his primary medical degree (MBBS) with Honours at the University of Sydney. He completed his internship at Concord Hospital and has worked as a surgical registrar at Westmead Hospital before choosing a career in General Practice. He has trained at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, successfully completing a postgraduate qualification in paediatrics being awareded a Diploma in Child Health (Paediatrics) and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners .
For over 18 years he has worked in general practice in the areas of Revesby, Port Macquarie, Edensor Park, Kareela and now, for the long term, Riverwood as principal GP. He is an Australian trained GP with exceptional knowledge of the local healthcare system and how it can best serve his patients. Dr Chauhan’s passion for teaching finds expression in his role as an accredited training supervisor for doctors specialising in the Australian General Practice training program and also takes on medical students in their final years of training from the University of New South Wales who rotate through the practice throughout the year. Dr Chauhan is a currrent Executive Board member of the St George Division of General Practice and currently serving as its Treasurer.
In his spare time, Dr Chauhan enjoys gardening, high intensity interval training, mantra meditation, studying Vedic Philosophy and spending time with his wife , his teenagers and their 2 guinea pigs, Gopal and Balaram.
Dr Chauhan consults Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 12:30pm and 2:00pm to 5:30pm Saturdays (except one Saturday a month) from 8:30am to 11:30am.
